BANGS Shoes is a unique and aesthetic footwear brand that empowers people to seek adventure and community. With an upbeat and inclusive social media presence, they have attracted a dedicated following among creatives and adventurers who are all drawn to their fun and mission-driven approach.
*This is a concept design project for the business’s ten-year anniversary.
PROCESS
To capture their well-known outdoorsy vibe and vibrant community-driven aesthetic, extensive research cemented alignment with the brand's values. Each design choice upheld the brand's distinctive vibe while introducing fresh elements.
Leveraging their eco-centric ethos, I crafted packaging that reduces waste and reflects their commitment to sustainability, using reusable canvas bags for their shoes rather than tissue. This not only embraces their eco-friendly approach but also enhances the consumer experience.
design notes:
A lot of sketches were involved in my process, I envisioned the brand to be richly influenced by illustrations and retro letterforms, reflecting a playful and advantageous vibe. I experimented with designs for items like canvas bags, shoeboxes, and bandanas. My overall goal was to maintain design unity while highlighting various aspects of the brand.

To maintain brand coherence, I opted for outdoor photography to showcase the products in their “natural habitat”. Providing clear direction to the photographer, I staged each shoot to capture the desired aesthetic for the items and campaign.
